What Ude is

Ude is a voice notes and meeting assistant. You control when recording and cloud transcription run. This site (https://udevoice.com) is the official web app for sign-in, settings, and invite links.

Our baseline: no permanent audio

Ude does not keep permanent audio recordings. We do not archive raw meeting audio on our servers, in your cloud account, or in device backup files. What you save is text (transcripts, notes, todos) and metadata you choose to store.

Two capture paths

Capture behavior is configured in Settings → Capture. Privacy for listening, transcription, and storage are related but not the same thing.

Quick capture (tap)

A short tap starts quick capture. When Quick capture is set to On-device, audio can stay entirely on your device from microphone through transcription to saved note — nothing is sent for speech recognition unless you change that setting.

Meeting capture (hold or Start meeting)

Meetings with speaker labels use Cloud STT when Meeting capture is set to Cloud STT. By necessity, short audio segments are sent to our Firebase backend and then to a speech provider (Google Gemini, AssemblyAI, or Google Cloud Speech-to-Text for enhance-only passes, as shown in Settings) for transcription only. Production deployments can pin cloud callables and STT providers to EU regions. Those segments are processed in memory and are not stored on Ude's servers.

After a cloud meeting ends, raw audio may remain in app memory on your device only for up to 15 minutes so you can optionally run Enhance transcript (a second quality pass). If you skip enhance, or after a successful enhance, that audio is deleted from memory. It is never written to disk or uploaded for long-term storage.

Enhance transcript & device memory

The optional 15-minute buffer is client RAM only. Enhance can fail even while the timer is still running if the operating system reclaims memory. Your live transcript is always saved.

Where your saved notes and meetings go

Saving text to the cloud is separate from cloud transcription. In Settings → Security, Privacy, and Data you choose:

• Ultimate privacy — saves stay on this device only (IndexedDB). No automatic cloud copy, no device file backups.
• Backup as needed — you are prompted per note or meeting before backing up to device files or uploading; cloud sync is optional.
• Privacy with backup — automatic device file backups on the native app; cloud sync remains your choice.
• Sync saves to my cloud account — when turned on, saved notes and meetings copy to your private Firestore account as end-to-end encrypted ciphertext from this device. Titles, dates, and tags remain readable for listing; transcript and note bodies are opaque to Ude at rest. When off, storage is device-only. This toggle does not block ephemeral cloud STT during meetings. Opening encrypted saves on a new device requires your vault recovery passphrase (Settings → Security, Privacy, and Data).

Sharing with friends or groups always requires an explicit share action with confirmation. We do not auto-upload your library because a meeting appeared on your calendar.

Account & invites

Friend invite links on https://udevoice.com ask you to sign in with the email address the inviter entered. We use that only to confirm you are the intended recipient and to add you to their friends list. We do not sell invite or contact data.

Optional LiveKit rooms (beta)

When enabled in your build, Ude can host optional conference rooms via LiveKit. Participant audio is routed through your LiveKit Cloud (or self-hosted) project for per-person tracks. Live transcription still uses ephemeral cloud STT when you opt in; we do not keep permanent room recordings on Ude servers. Microsoft Teams bot and default mic capture remain separate paths.

Third-party providers

When cloud features are enabled, data may be processed by Firebase (authentication, functions, optional Firestore sync), speech providers (Gemini, AssemblyAI, Google Cloud Speech-to-Text), optional LiveKit infrastructure, and AI providers you select for summaries. Stripe processes payments for paid plans. Each provider has its own privacy policy; for Google, see Google Privacy Policy.

Request account or data deletion

You can request deletion of your Ude account and associated cloud data at any time. This applies to accounts used on the web app and the Android app published as Ude (or Ude: Private Voice AI on Google Play).

How to request deletion

1. Sign in to Ude at https://udevoice.com (or open the Android app) with the account you want deleted.
2. Open Settings → Support (or email the support address on the Play listing) and request account deletion. Include the email address on the account.
3. Or email support with subject line "Delete my Ude account" and the account email.

What we delete

• Firebase Authentication account (sign-in credentials for this app)
• Cloud vault data linked to your user id (synced notes, meetings, todos, Remember items, friend/group data) when cloud sync was used
• Subscription linkage for this account (access ends; billing cancellations may also be required in Google Play or Stripe)

What may be retained briefly

• Aggregated billing or fraud logs required by payment processors (Google Play / Stripe) under their policies
• Security or abuse reports you filed, as needed to investigate safety issues
• Backups or logs for up to 30 days, then permanently removed, unless a longer period is required by law

Device-only data (local IndexedDB / app storage) is cleared when you use Settings → Clear local data or uninstall the app. We cannot delete data that never left your device.

Delete some data without deleting the account

Yes. In the app you can delete individual notes, meetings, todos, Remember items, and remove friends or groups. That removes those items from your account without closing the account.
